Summary

Sandy, Seth and Ryan travel to Miami, Florida to visit Sandy's mother, the Nana, after she tells Sandy she is getting married to a much younger man. Back in Newport, Kirsten, unable go to Miami with Sandy because of work, is left on her own to deal with her feelings for Carter. Trey misinterprets Marissa's friendship as a sexual advance. Also, Zach invites Summer to a home-cooked dinner at his house.

Even though Seth is definitely shocked that "Bright Eyes has two albums in the top ten", major news from Florida is imminent. Sandy's mother, better known as the Nana, is getting married. Now, it's Sandy's turn to feel pazzled. "Well, it's just I love my mother... but who else would". Anyway, that's official, two Cohens - father and junior - plus one Atwood are going to visit the Nana in Miami. Yep, times of departures. While Marissa claims to Ryan that he owes her a whole week-end, Summer is still mad at Seth about what happened at Reed's party.

Well, Seth's plan "getting out of town before doing anything else wrong in Summer's opinion" can get started. Ryan doesn't want to leave Trey alone but it turns out Jess does seem interested in taking care of Ryan's big brother. Someone else is leaving the Newport; Carter, who got an important job in New York City. Kirsten looks dazed and they end up planning a farewell dinner. Anyway, Ryan, before leaving for Miami, asked Marissa to help his brother out getting a job. Of course Coop's nursing soul can't help but accept: she stops by Trey's apartment. Trey agrees to hang out the next day. Mission: job hunting. When Marissa

walks away, Jess shows up and, while she is about to snort a line of coke, points out: "You and Marissa Cooper. Not in this life time... or in this town". In the meantime, the Fabulous Three have finally arrived in Miami. The Nana wants Seth to describe all that happened in his life this whole last year, but he remarks: "I can barely remember what I had for dinner last night, please". Anyway, Sophie doesn't lose her good mood. She's getting married to a younger man, Bobby, in a few months. Sandy is surprised: "What's the rush, pregnant?". Back in Newport Beach. Zach comes over Summer's bedroom, he wants to know if she is fine. Summer's reply is clear: "I'm in gym clothes and my hair is in French braids... so I'm terrible". The truth is that she is upset because of Seth. And of course Zach can't help but invite Summer to come over for dinner. Dish of the day: gnocchi. Sandy, Sophie and Bobby have lunch together and Sandy lets the soon-to-be-husband know that he is suspicious but if Sophie Cohen trusts Bobby, he himself trusts him too. Seth and Ryan meet a girl, Mary Sue, whose grandmother lives in the same guest house where the Nana lives. Mary Sue asks Seth to be her partner in a dance contest broadcast on tv, and he accepts. It turns out the contest involves Mary Sue covered with whipped cream and Seth "licking it all off". While Seth's try "I'm a little bit lactose intolerant" isn't that successful, Ryan's hope is that "Summer hasn't paid her cable bill". Minutes later, Ryan calls Marissa on the phone and she tells him she's going over to Trey's to celebrate the fact he did get a job that day. Ryan is totally happy about it but he claims that, right now, he would be happier if he was back at home. Marissa agrees and, in the end, they both say they'll be out of troubles. Yep, that's a good one.

Dinner time. In Newport Beach two couples are drinking way too much. Kirsten and Carter at their farewell dinner, and Trey plus Coop at the celebration evening, as well. In Miami, Sophie and Sandy are waiting for Bobby but he doesn't show up. No more marriage for the Nana. She is sad, so Sandy promises he'll visit her a little more often. In the meantime, something unusual is going on at the Cohen's. Kirsten and Carter end up kissing. Then follows an awkward moment. After that, Kirsten says Carter good luck for his new job and, as soon as he walked away, she

drinks vodka till she looks totally emotionless. Sigh. It turns out someone is waiting for Mary Sue: her boyfriend and a entire bible study class. Seth asks Ryan if "we can convince them to turn the other cheek". Ryan's face is definitely skeptical. Luckily biblical boys' revenge just consists in covering Seth with whipped cream. "So I guess those guys really do believe in an eye for an eye". Anyway, even though Seth does not want anybody to find out what happened, unfortunately that might be too late: indeed, while Mary Sue and Seth were doing their performance on the tv contest, Summer was at Zach's and she saw the whole thing on tv. Well, her reaction is definitely pretty fast: she kisses a puzzled Zach, who, by the way, can't help but figure: "I guess you liked the gnocchi". Meanwhile, drama is speeding up. Trey and Marissa went out for some fresh air. As soon as they are at the beach, Trey starts freaking out and he almost rapes Marissa but, luckily, she succeeds in running away before it's too late. Back to Miami, we can see Ryan trying to call Marissa. No answer: Marissa's phone is lying on the sand. And someone is staring at it, speechless. Trey, who, is all by himself at the beach.
