Lindsay Gardner is a recurring character throughout the second season of the Fox drama series The O.C.. She is portrayed by Shannon Lucio.
Background[]
She grew up being raised by her mother, without ever seeing her Dad (Caleb), and only hearing a lie about her father, because Caleb had paid her mother hush money since Lindsay had arisen from an affair back when Caleb was still married to Kirsten and Hailey's mother.
But then Lindsay and her mom move to Newport and her whole life turns upside down.
Personality[]
She plays the oboe and puts great value on school work. She is a loner, socially awkward but principled, often times a little cynical and doesn't trust people easily. Throughout their relationship however, Ryan and her both seem to open up a little. So far even that she trusts him in a moment where he doesn't expect it, which makes their relationship crumble.
Physical Description[]
Ginger.
She sees herself as fat, which becomes clear by her harum-scarum comment about Marissa's and Summer's eating habits.
Her height is about medium, her most striking feature is probably her nose.
She is also a very good example for the practise of mouth acting.

Season 2[]
Lindsay, is the half-sister of Kirsten Cohen and Hailey Nichol and the love-child of Caleb Nichol from an affair with his secretary, Renee Wheeler. She began a romantic relationship with her adopted half-nephew Ryan Atwood before the truth was revealed. She also once went on a date with her soon to be revelated half-nephew Seth Cohen. Lindsay's father was revealed during the episode six of season 2, titled : The Chrismukkah That Almost Wasn't.
Lindsay does not live the normal lifestyle of those in the O.C. She drives a beat up car that can barely run. She is made fun for this by numerous people on her first day at Harbor School. After Caleb's heart attack he decides to formally adopt Lindsay as his daughter. This prompts Julie Cooper to become very angry and demand that there be a DNA test run. This causes a strain on the relationship. It is later revealed that Caleb is her biological father. In the end she decides to leave Newport and move to Chicago with her mother, leaving both Ryan and Caleb behind. The reasons that led her not to attend the funeral of her biological father are unknown.
