Chili Childress was a recurring character in the third season of the Fox drama series The O.C.. He was portrayed by Johnny Lewis.

Dennis Childress, was affectionately called Chili, was Johnny Harper's best friend and Marissa Cooper friend at Newport Union. He introduces himself to Marissa as "Chili". He was the best friend and aids of Johnny, especially when he had to deal with his girlfriend Casey cheating on him and when he was injured during a car accident. Chili lied to Marissa about Johnny, telling her that he was back in the surf team and would leave Newport Union to travel with them, knowing that the only reason Marissa was staying at the Newport Union, was him.
telling her that he got back on the surfing team and will be leaving Newport Union to travel with them, as he and know that Johnny is the only reason Marissa is staying at Newport Union. Chili wants Johnny to confess to Marissa how he feels about her but when he does, Marissa tells him that she doesn't love him. After Johnny's death, Chili stops going by the name Chili and wants to be called Dennis instead, as Johnny never liked the nickname.
