Carson Ward was a minor character in an episode of the first season of the Fox drama series The O.C.. He is portrayed by Brian McNamara.
Carson was the husband of Meredith Ward, and the father of Luke, Eric and Brad Ward. He moves to Portland with Luke, after the discovery of his homosexuality by the Newport community.

Season 1[]
Carson and his family seemed happy, but in a sad turn of events, we found out that his family was not as "perfect". His son Luke, who was with one of his classmates: Ryan Atwood (they had to do a school project) discovered that Carson was kissing with another man, in one of his dealers, and after realizing that his son had caught him he decided to tell Meredith his wife, who asked for a divorce soon after. Months later, everything was finalized and Carson moved to Portland with Luke who decided to go with him, while his younger sons : Brad and Eric, remained in Newport Beach with their mother.
Season 2[]
Carson appears in the episode of the second season, entitled : "The Distance", because Seth Cohen had gone to live with him and his son Luke in Portland, following the departure of his adoptive brother Ryan Atwood, in the last episode of the previous season.
